PANTONE COLOR TRENDS

Last week I jumped on a webinar with Pantone to discuss the color trends for 2020 and beyond. I’ve worked with Pantone for over 20 years, especially when designing product collections. In case you haven’t heard of the organization, The Pantone Color Institute is a consulting service that forecasts global color trends and advises companies on color in brand identity and product development, for the application and integration of color as a strategic asset. So what are the trends? Let’s start with the color of the year…

We’ve been using classic blues in our designs for over a decade because it’s exactly that — a classic like a man’s blue blazer…

We’re also seeing more watery blues, and I’ve always used this color in my personal homes…

A natural companion to these blues are corresponding greens, which is also one of my favorites and have incorporated into our Palm Beach interiors…

Of course if you add pink to the blues and greens, you have a natural preppy palette and who doesn’t love a pop of pink?

Another trend is stylized nature with colors that remind me of the Memphis movement….

Kick up the colors a notch and you have neon colors reminiscent of the 80s…

On the oppposite end of the spectrum you have the new neutrals that incorporate creams, grays and beiges…

These calming colors also lend them themselves to serene and spiritual environments…

Of course, the most important criteria in selecting colors for your home is that you choose colors YOU love. Trends come and go but style is eternal. If you need help selecting colors for  your interior spaces, we’re here to help!
