We have been working with a dream client who shares our love for Chinoiserie. There is just something about this exotic style that really speaks to us. Chinoiserie first came into vogue when European trade expanded with East Asia in the 17th and 18th centuries, which led to fanciful interpretations of Chinese styles in interiors, textiles, furniture, pottery and more. We have been working with this client on decorating her living room and den and she has exquisite taste. When we saw this new swatch of fabric from Century Furniture, we knew she would love it:

So we used the fabric to make pillows that are going on her fabulous new sofa from Century Furniture, sneak peak here…

Century Furniture is one of our favorite partners, not only because almost of all their furniture is hand made in North Carolina, but also because they do Chinoiserie Chic really well…

And here…

Now I’m thinking of adding a little to Chinoiserie to my dining room with this classic fabric from Schumacher…

And these Pagoda lamps from Worlds Away are some of our favorites…

And we’re loving this fun chandelier for a teenage girl’s bedroom…

As you can see just a little Chinoiserie adds a lot of chic to any interior!
